... and I was only joking about the Goon thing. Though it would be interesting; don't think anyone's ever been stupid enough to do that in a game I've played, would be interesting to see how it works out.

It's exactly the kind of thing that could be a complete decoy. If he were mafia, he'd get the PM about it. Thus, he'd know about the board and could ask. I'd give the same response regardless of which it was; there's the obvious factor that he'd have gotten a PM if he was mafia as an implication. As for your other post, sure, why not. |

Sorry, I was at work, then out eating; I'm home now.
I'm Proton, the Team Rocket Admin, which is basically a Roleblocker for the Mafia.
I'm not an experienced Mafia strategist. I'm like that guy who understands chess rules but has little idea how to play it other than not putting his pieces into spots where the enemy can kill them the very next turn (unless it would be a trade that seems roughly worthwhile). Actually I am that for chess as well. But I meant to use that as an analogy for what I'm like with regard to Mafia.
I find it interesting that Key is posting here with us; that just seems unusual, based on my experience with hosts and private forums. In TES1, I never posted on team forums and quicktopics I knew about. In TES2, Mayo and Machete never did it. And in TES3, Cody and Toon aren't doing it. But I suppose Mafia is a different sort of game, and this is the one and only allowed out-of-GameFAQs discussion place, so it makes more sense for the host to be here. And he might as well talk if everyone knows he's here, as long as he's not helping us strategically.
I'm also worried based on my TES experiences that this forum might be found via search somehow. And it's not password-protected at all. Though honestly if it was found with search, it wouldn't even matter a ton if it was password protected, as there is a publicly accessible method to test if a username is still available on the board, so our member list could still be determined by trial-and-error in that way. (I'm probably worrying about this too much.)
I still have a lot of reading to do to catch up, but feel free to leave me a message here stating what you think I should do.

I will add that I dislike 2 things about Proboards versus Zetaboards.
(1) Proboards wants me to use the same account across all boards (although I can personalize it with different usernames on different forums). This does make registration more convenient, yes, but I worry it makes me less able to hide which boards I have an account on... I'm not really sure about that though, as I have limited experience with Proboards; this is only my 2nd Proboard I've registered for.
(2) Proboards forces the first character of my username to be lowercase. This is very perturbing.

I just tried Googling "GNT Mafia" - with the quotes, it's some kind of boolean operator or something, I forget what it's actually called - and basically got nothing. Whew. I managed to capitalize my display name in the settings. Actually, I see Keyblade has capitalization too.
Anyway, of course googling it now will get nothing. But I meant in like a week or two. Then it might get something. But again, I'm probably worrying too much, and the level of out-of-GameFAQs efforts invested into a GameFAQs Mafia game is not as high as the level invested by the most obsessive players of The Epic Struggle. (Note that I'm not saying the overall level of play is lower - just that there's less thought put into out-of-GameFAQs strategy, primarily because the town is told to keep everything in that one GameFAQs topic.)
